Amed, Paytexta Kurdistanê

Amedspor Shirt: our own Amed design

Two shirts we designed ourselves for the capital of Kurdistan, Home and Away, and five new fan shirts on the way. Our own design: an Amedspor fan edition with the flag of Kurdistan. Not the official club shirt.

Two shirts for the capital of Kurdistan

Amed is the capital of Kurdistan. In 2026 a club carrying its name reached the highest level of football for the first time. We wanted a shirt for that moment that tells the story of the city itself, so we designed our own: Amed, Paytexta Kurdistanê, which in Kurmancî means Amed, capital of Kurdistan.

Home: the walls in red

Green, with two red panels printed in the brick pattern of the old city walls of Amed. On the chest sits a golden embroidered eagle crest with the year 1990, with the embroidered flag of Kurdistan above it. On the hem, "Amed Paytexta Kurdistanê" is stitched in gold.

Away: the basalt in black

The old walls of Amed are built from black basalt. The away shirt carries that stone: two dark panels in the brick pattern of the basalt walls, black on black, with the golden eagle of Amed across the chest, the embroidered flag of Kurdistan above it and golden trim on the sleeves.

How the shirts were made

It started in June 2025 with a moodboard: the walls, the eagle, the colors of the flag. In March and April 2026 we worked through several kit options with our designer. In May 2026 the final print files went to the factory, and in July 2026 Home and Away arrived in our store.

The details tell the story. The crest, the flag and the gold lettering are embroidery; the walls are part of the print, so they run across the whole panel.

Why the walls

The walls of Amed run for up to 5.8 kilometres, built largely from dark basalt, with gates and towers from many centuries. In 2015 UNESCO added them, together with the Hevsel Gardens, to the World Heritage List. For us they are the strongest image of the city: they have stood around Amed through every generation.

Coming soon: five fan shirts

Next to Home and Away, five fan shirts are on the way: Black, Green, Red, White and White 2. They are a lighter line than Home and Away: a fully sublimated print, no embroidery, single cuffs, and the sun of Kurdistan with its 21 rays on the neck label. In preparation. Not on sale yet.
